How to Save Telegram Links to Your Computer with a Bot
Most Telegram browsing happens on your phone, but saving content properly usually means moving it to your computer first. TGC turns that into a single message: send a link to your own bot in Telegram, and your desktop downloads it into your library — no device switching, nothing new to learn.
- 1
Create your own bot
Find @BotFather in Telegram, send /newbot, pick a name (such as “My TGC Remote”), and copy the bot token you receive.
- 2
Connect the bot to TGC
Open the Telegram Bot section in TGC Settings, paste the token and save — the bot runs on your computer inside TGC.
- 3
Bind your account
Message the bot /start from your own Telegram account. Once you get the binding confirmation, the bot serves only you.
- 4
Send a link and save it
Send a message link to the bot (e.g. /save followed by the link). TGC creates the download task and replies in the chat when it is done.
- 5
Check progress anytime
Send /status to see recent task progress, or /help for all commands.
FAQ
Does my computer need to stay on?
The bot runs on your computer: it is online and saves what you send while TGC is running; when your computer is off, the bot is offline — just send again after it is back on.
Can anyone else use this bot?
After binding, the bot serves only you — messages from anyone else are silently ignored.
Where is the saved content?
All on your own device: once the download task finishes, the content lands in your library, ready to browse and replay.
Is the bot token safe?
The token is stored locally on your computer and never reported to any third party; the bot only handles content you have access to.
