How to Download Telegram Channel Content to Your Computer
Do I need the official Telegram app?
No. TGC signs in directly and only handles content you have access to.
What content can I save?
Only content you can access — if you are a member or the owner, you are good to go.
What is the difference between the content library and downloading?
The content library lives on your device for browsing and playback; downloading saves original files to a local folder you choose.
Where is the content saved?
In your content library on your own device, or in the local folder you choose, in the original format.
What is the difference between the content library and the media library?
The content library stores content collected by tasks and is browsable in the app; the media library is a local view where you add folders manually. Both live on your own device.

How to Back Up a Telegram Channel
Is my content safe if the channel is deleted?
Yes. Content lives on your own device (content library or local folder) and does not depend on the channel.
Will future content be included?
Monitor and Subscription tasks keep collecting new content; a Scan task collects what already exists.
How much space does it take?
The actual size of the content; same-name files are renamed to avoid conflicts, and re-downloading the same content overwrites in place without extra copies.

What is the difference between an album and a regular message?
An album is a group of media messages sent together and grouped by Telegram; TGC processes the whole album even if the link points to a single member.
Does a link to a single album message work?
Yes. TGC detects the album, expands it, and collects all members' media at once.
Are the files original quality?
Yes, saved at original resolution and format.
How is the folder structure organized?
By default, one folder per channel with title + message ID in filenames; both layout and naming templates are customizable — see the file organization guide.
Telegram Download File Organization
What is the default folder structure?
One folder per channel by default: root/channel-name/files, with filenames like "title-messageID"; same-name files get numbered suffixes and documents keep their original names.
How do I customize the layout and naming?
Edit the folder layout and naming template in settings using placeholders; individual tasks can override them too, without affecting each other.
Which placeholders are available in the naming template?
Channel, album title, message ID, sequence number, date (year-month-day/time), media type, topic, hashtags, sender, and original filename, among others.
What happens on re-download?
The same content overwrites in place without extra copies; different files that collide get numbered suffixes.
